木地工房

木地工房では６代目木地職人の辻さんが椀木地作りを行っています。
輪島塗のお椀を作る上で一番最初の工程です。ご自由に見学頂けます。

また、辻さんの作った木地や、仕上げた漆器も販売しています。
見本で置いてある「極薄椀」はぜひ手にとって光に透かして見て下さい。
職人技と言われる技術が垣間見えます。

漆器づくりの最初の工程です。
普段はあまり目にすることの少ない
木地づくりを見ることができます。

ロクロ挽きでお椀などの
木地をつくる「椀木地師」。
極薄の木地は
明かりが透けて見えるほどに繊細です。

It is the first process made with lacquerware.
You might see the usually uncommon process about making of bare wood.
"The wooden bowl craftsman"
who makes the bare wood on a potter's wheel. The ultrathin bare wood is delicate so that a light is transparent.

輪島にいても、目に触れることの少ない仕事ですが、誇り（埃）を持ち、
輪島塗の発展、振興に少しなりとも
寄与できれば幸いです。

It is a work that is not readily seen even if in Wajima, but I have a pride and am happy if I can contribute to development of the Wajima lacquering technique, promotion with a little.

作業工程説明
wooden bowl craftsman

何年間も寝かした椀の荒型を燻煙乾燥で水分をぬく、24％ある水分を自然乾燥と人工乾燥で交互行い5％まで下げる。あとは自然乾燥で7～8％に戻す、この状態の木地は初めて製品に仕上げる事ができる。

作業は轆轤（ロクロ）を使い、微妙な力加減により、カンナで木地を薄く引いていく。特にカンナは椀木地師が鍛冶道具を使い全部自分で作る。道具が作れて、初めて椀木地職人になれるという。

To pull out water by smoking drying of the wild model wood which is leaving as for several years. To perform alternation by natural drying and artificial drying and lower the water which there are 24% to 5%.
A product can finish the bare wood which is in this state to return to 7-8% moisture by natural drying afterward for the first time.

Moving the angles of canna to sharpen the wood bowl with a potter's wheel. A wooden bowl craftsman all makes the plane with oneself with Kaji tool. When people can make a tool, and it is said that can become a wooden bowl bare wood craftsman for the first time.

★工房　みどころ　POINT★

１　辻さんの工房には積み上げられたたくさんの器がある。蒸し焼きにしたお椀や乾燥によって割れが生じたものまでその技術の難しさが窺える。

２　展示スペースには木地師ならではのこだわりの品が並べられている。
極薄椀は光にかざしてみると光が洩れて見えるほどに薄い。

３　人気のお椀ストラップや塗り師の兄弟との合同作品の他、漆を塗っていない木地だけの器や皿なども販売している。また、向いの足湯に行くならば、１００円で足湯タオルも。

木地工房に隣接する　「甘味処ＩＮ木来人」では
辻さんの作品で能登の食や甘味をお出しする他、
作品のギャラリーがあります。
