| 作業工程説明 下地は白木から、生漆を全体に染込ませ木を固める、割れやすい部分に生漆と米糊を練り合わせた糊漆で布を貼り補強する、それから輪島市内で採れた珪藻土という地の粉を粒子の粗いものから細かい順に生漆と米糊に混ぜて、ヘラで全体に塗り重ねる、ヘラは職人が器に合うようにその都度小刀で形にしていく。 木地固めから惣身付け、一辺地付け、二辺地付け、三辺地付けまでの作業を行う際、一回の塗り付けに対し、必ず一回の研ぎをするので、数回の塗り重ねで、丈夫さと共に緻密な肌を作る。 そのあとは、全体に中塗漆を刷毛で器を引き締める中塗と小中塗をする。さらに上塗を美しく仕上げるため、手でさわった跡や汚れを丁寧に拭き取る研ぎをしたら下地終わり。     |
Base-coating The base-coating from unvarnished wood, to paint the whole with unrefined urushi(sap) and harden the wood. Put cloth and reinforce it with the paste lacquer which kneaded a mixture of rice gule with unrefined urushi on the part which is easy to be broken. Then mix base powder(rough to fine) called diatomaceous earth produced in Wajima with unrefined urushi(sap) and rice gule, and paint the whole with a spatula and repeat it , which spatula form was made by a knife so that a craftsman matches a container each time. From harden the wood to Sanbenjitsuke for one coating charge account, must do one grind by all means. The several times of coating stacks to make minute skin with robustness. Then, do middle coat and Konaka coat to tighten a container by a brush with middle coat urushi in the whole. Furthermore, do a grind to wipe off a trace and the dirt which to touched by hand carefully in order to have a beautifully finish final coating . |

| 作業工程説明 本来は上塗師だが、入居されている工房は上塗に向かないので、ここでは「蒔地」技法での作業になる。上塗作業の際は自宅で行っている 蒔地は、刷毛で生漆を塗り、布着せをする。それから一辺地粉を蒔いて、乾いたら中塗と中塗研ぎをして、最後に本職の上塗をする。吉田さんは職人工房で蒔地技法を使って、お椀以外のハードに使われる器や食器制作をしている。お椀の場合は本堅地で作っている。 |

| 作業工程説明 輪島塗とは一味違う“変り塗”の箸を中心とした日常的に使える漆器を作っている。変り塗は、錆漆で模様付けをし、できた凹凸部分に色漆を重ね、研ぎ出しなどで、漆に表情をつける技法です。変り塗りは漆に広がりを感じさせると推薦!!   |
He makes lacquerware to be able to use for the daily life, mainly on chopsticks of Wajima-nuri and "change coating" which is different from the Wajima-nuri lacquering technique in. He does a design charge account in rust urushi, and the change coating repeats color urushi(lacquer) on the irregularity part that it was possible, and it is technique to be able to attach different expression on urushi. He recommend that the change coating lets lacquer feel various possibility!  |
